About Big Country:

Genre: Rock

Big Country was originally formed in 1981 by guitar playing founder members Stuart Adamson and Bruce Watson, both natives of the band’s hometown, Dunfermline, in Scotland.

Initially driven by a shared vision of widescreen guitar melody, harmony, and lyric, the classic Big Country sound was further enhanced later that summer by the arrival of drummer Mark Brzezicki and bass player Tony Butler. This is the Big Country that (with producer Steve Lillywhite) recorded the classic debut album ‘The Crossing’ in 1983.

The band broke massively worldwide with the release of the album’s classic singles ‘Fields Of Fire’, ‘Chance’ and signature song ‘In A Big Country’, which went on to become massive worldwide hits, selling over 2 million copies and driving ‘The Crossing’ to 3 prestigious Grammy nominations in the USA.

The run of success continued throughout the 1980′s with the release of the anthemic single ‘Wonderland’ and the second album ‘Steeltown’ (1984), which debuted at Number 1 in the UK and contained the hit singles ‘East Of Eden,' ‘Just a Shadow’ and ‘Where The Rose Is Sown.’ In 1985, Big Country appeared at Live Aid in London followed by further successful album releases ‘The Seer’ (1986, which included the bands biggest UK hit ‘Look Away’, which also reached Number 1 in the Irish Singles chart) and ‘Peace In Our Time’ (1988), which saw the band playing the first ever privately promoted gig in Russia at the Moscow Sports Stadium.

Now, as Big Country has ventured through the 2020s, they celebrate the 40th Anniversary of ‘The Crossing’ throughout 2023 and will celebrate the 40th Anniversary of ‘Steeltown’ throughout 2024. They continue to entertain fans around the world the way only Big Country music can.

About Tommy Tutone:

Genre: 80s Pop

Tommy Tutone is an American power pop band known for its 1981 song "867-5309/Jenny," which peaked at #4 on the Billboard Hot 100. The band's lead singer, rhythm guitarist, and occasional keyboardist is Tommy Heath. He is the only active original member currently touring as Tommy Tutone. Heath grew up in Philadelphia, Texas, and Montana before moving to San Francisco during the Summer of Love to become a hippie. There, he formed the band with Jim Keller and Terry Nails in 1978, naming it after his nickname. The band's first single, "Angel Say No", was released in 1980 and reached the top 40, and they opened for Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers on his US tour for Damn the Torpedoes.

About Gene Loves Jezebel:

Genre: Rock / Punk

Gene Loves Jezebel is a British rock band formed in the early 1980s by twin brothers Michael Aston and Jay Aston. Initially associated with gothic rock and post-punk, their 1983 debut album, Promise, reached no.8 on the UK Indie Chart. The band's popularity peaked a few years later with their 1986 album Discover reaching the top 40 on the UK Albums Chart and five singles entering the UK Singles Chart in 1986-1987, including "Heartache," "Desire (Come and Get It)" and "The Motion of Love," and also gaining success in the US.

On December 1, 2023, Jay Aston's Gene Loves Jezebel released their tenth studio album, Love Death Sorrow, on Cleopatra Records to critical acclaim. In his review of Love Death Sorrow for Goldmine Magazine, Dave Thompson wrote, “It not only sounds like a classic Jezzies album, it feels like one as well — at the same time as dodging any accusation of treading water or restating old ground. The band has already lived through its glory days. Now they're celebrating their most glorious. Guitarist Stevenson is simply blazing. Indeed, anyone who thought his recent (2021) solo album The Other Side of the World was the cat’s pajamas has just been introduced to its dressing gown. In terms of (re-)establishing Stevenson’s credentials as the hottest guitarist to emerge from the new wave (he was first sighted in Chelsea, in the first wave of punk), Stevenson is playing some of the most grandiosely incisive guitar of his life right now. A lot of unexpected names have turned up new albums this year, and most of them have been a letdown. Gene Loves Jezebel compensates for all of them.

About Bow Wow Wow:

Genre: 80s / new wave

Formed in 1980 by Malcolm McLaren after the demise of the Sex Pistols, Bow Wow Wow were originally members of Adam And The Ants. On McLaren's advice, they recruited a 14-year-old singer named Myint Myint Aye (Burmese for "High High Cool"), who was later renamed Annabella Lwin.

Typified by Burundi-style drumming and Lwin's singing—which veered between screaming and ritual chants—Bow Wow Wow saw some early success in the UK after signing with RCA. They scored a minor hit in the US with their cover of the classic 1965 single "I Want Candy," originally by the US group The Strangeloves.
